Credit Card Debt Consolidation Services
The terms Debt Consolidation and Consumer Credit Counseling are often generically interchanged. Consumer Credit Counseling seems like a Debt Consolidation Service because the consumer pays a Credit Counseling company to disburse their funds to their creditors. Credit Counseling companies strike deals with lenders to reduce interest rates during the pay back period. Credit Counseling requires destroying all credit cards and agreeing not to obtain new lines of credit for a specified period of time. Credit Counseling also appears on the consumer’s credit record. Credit Card Debt Consolidation Services involve obtaining a loan to pay back another loan. While this method is effective with a lower interest rate, it does not actually eliminate debt.
